Couples

Two people, one page, drawn from your photographs.

A couple portrait for an anniversary, a wedding, or the everyday photograph that still feels like the two of you.

What a couple portrait can be

A couple portrait is handmade artwork of two people who belong on the same page. It may come from a single photograph of you together, or — when the studio can work this way — from two separate photographs brought into one composition. It is often given for an anniversary or a wedding, and just as often kept for no occasion at all. Pencil keeps it quiet; color keeps the day you were wearing.

Process

Commissioning a portrait of two

  1. 01

Say it is for two people

Choose pencil or color and a couple subject option so the page is planned for two.

  2. 02

Share how you want to be seen together

One photograph of both of you is ideal. If you only have separate pictures, say so in the notes so the artist can consider a combined composition.

  3. 03

Place the order as a gift or for yourselves

Checkout is the same either way. Delivery can go to you or to someone else if you are giving the portrait away.

  4. 04

    Drawn as a pair

Ammama creates the artwork by hand. Preview and framing follow the options you chose.

Photographs of two

The kindest reference is one where both faces can be read, even if the rest of the day was imperfect.

  • A photograph taken together, at similar distance, is usually stronger than two distant snapshots.
  • If you send two separate photos, try to match the direction of the light so the pairing feels natural.
  • Hands, shoulders, and how you lean toward each other matter as much as faces. Do not crop them away.
  • Wedding and anniversary pictures are welcome. So is a kitchen photograph from an ordinary morning.

Photographs you upload are used to create your artwork. Read how photos are handled.

Occasions, without the fuss

Many couple portraits are given for anniversaries and weddings. The work itself does not need a printed date on the page unless you ask for one.

A private gift

If the portrait is a surprise, you can have it delivered to yourself first. The person in the drawing does not need an account.
