What a family portrait holds

A family portrait is a handmade drawing of several people who share a life. It may be parents and children, siblings, or a wider table. The work is a keepsake, not a school-picture package: one considered page, drawn by Ammama from the photographs you trust. When a single group photo does not exist — different cities, different years — the studio can consider combining references, as long as each face is clear enough to draw honestly.

How a family commission is planned

    Choose how many people belong on the page

    Select pencil or color and a subject option that matches the household you want drawn.

    Gather the photographs you actually have

    One group photograph is the simplest path. Separate pictures can be considered when you explain who should sit where.

  3. 03

    Write the relationships in the notes

    Names are optional. What helps is knowing who is whom, and whether anyone should be closer to the center of the page.

    Drawn as a gathering

    Ammama creates the portrait by hand. Preview, framing, and delivery follow the options you confirmed.

Photographs of a household

Families are rarely lined up in perfect light. Clarity still matters more than formality.

  • Every face you want drawn should be visible in at least one photograph. A turned head in the only group shot is a problem.
  • Try to send pictures taken at a similar distance, so no one arrives as a distant figure beside a close portrait.
  • Children move. A slightly imperfect but sharp frame is better than a posed picture that is soft.
  • If someone is no longer here and you wish them included, say so. The artist will work from the reference you provide.
